Welcome to Coventry Only

The city of Coventry in Warwickshire is famous for having been virtually reduced to ashes during the second world war, including the magnificent St Michael's cathedral. Basil Spence's new and astonishing cathedral has been built close by and this area of Coventry is now a huge visitor attraction with its numerous bars and restaurants based around the Cathedral Quarter.

No one who visits Coventry can fail to hear about the story of Lady Godiva who rode naked on a horse through the streets of Coventry to prevent her husband from making the people there pay more taxes. A well-known landmark in the City Centre is the Godiva clock which shows Godiva's ride and is popular with visitors who also flock to see the Godiva statue.

It's easy to get around Coventry with its pedestrianised city centre and excellent shopping centres as well as more specialised shops to suit all tastes and pockets.
